If you are interested in cowboy action shooting, you are welcome to come and watch. You will need to wear eye and hearing protection.
New Shooter Orientation:
Want to know what gear do I need? We strongly advise you to come talk to experience shooters before buying gear. What guns should I have? What are the rules? Our orientation will walk you through what you need to know to get started in cowboy action shooting. If you are interested, email us. Normally we can do a new shooter orientation at any practice session if you let us know you are coming. If you need a date that's not on a Sunday, just let us know.

Monthly Informal Practice Sessions:
Join us for practice. If you are just getting into the sport, you can bring out whatever cowboy guns you have to start shooting. It's a good time to ask questions and get shooting tips before you invest a lot of money.
Informal Practice Schedule:
Practice in Hamilton will start up in June and run through September It will be Friday night at 4:00 before our monthly match. Check in at the main office before coming to the action bays. $7 range fee unless you are Whittecar member. If practice is cancelled, we will post it here.
We are a SASS affiliated cowboy action shooting club located in western Montana.
We have a match the first Saturday (before the first Sunday) of each month in Hamilton, MT. We are pleased to include a second monthly match in Polson, MT on the fourth Saturday. See shooting schedules.
Shooter's check in starts at 9:30. Mandatory safety meeting at 10:00 AM, with lead down range soon after.
Want to shoot more? Pay an extra match fee and shoot a second time in "open class." Any approved SASS style of shooting is allowed with any cowboy legal firearms. It's a good way to practice for a new shooting category, work on a different technique or just to shoot more.
We shoot 6 stages with a minimum ammo count of 60 rifle, 60 pistol, and 30 shotgun. It's a good idea to bring extra ammo.
